BEVERLY HILLS—There will be a private funeral held for Rapper Heavy D at the historic Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, N.Y. on Friday, November 18.

The world-renowned entertainer (whose real name is Dwight Arrington Myers) collapsed at his Beverly Hills home on November 8. He was 44 years old. The Beverly Hills Police Department arrived at the 400 block of North Maple Drive to find an “unconscious person.” When they arrived at 11:25 a.m., he was conscious and able to communicate but was having difficulty breathing. He was then taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by Beverly Hills Fire Department paramedics. He later died at the hospital.

According to the BHPD, Myers was returning home from shopping. He began having difficulty breathing while walking toward his condominium home. He was assisted into the building by staff, but he collapsed outside his home. The investigation is being handled by the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office.

Heavy D began his entertainment career with the group Heavy D & The Boyz in 1987. He became popular with such hits as “Overweight Lover’s in the House” and “Now That We Found Love” in 1991. He also gained attention by composing and performing theme songs to television sitcoms, “In Living Color” and “MADtv.” The late rapper had several guest appearances on different television shows such as “A Different World,” “Law & Order” and “Bones.” He also had a role in the film “Life” with actor Eddie Murphy. His latest appearance was in the 2011 Murphy film, “Tower Heist.”

Heavy D performed at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards show in October. He also performed at Michael Jackson’s tribute concert in Wales. These were the two biggest performances he has had since a 15-year hiatus. His most recent album “Love Opus” was released on September 27. According to his official Twitter page, his last message before his passing was, “Be Inspired.”

Flirting with Temptations

INT. SHEARS & PERRY MARKETING FIRM LOBBY. AFTERNOON
A group of females are sitting around the lunch table while they are on their break. Monica Clayton is twisting her fork into her pasta chicken salad. She sits across from her best friend Rachel Moore and two other co-workers. As they are discussing important topics of the day, a male co-worker Keith Jackson walks past the ladies.
Now that man is oh so fine! I mean dark chocolate fine! Ooh!” Monica says excitedly.
"Huh, un-uh, now you know that Keith is married!” Rachel answers.
"Um, is that suppose to stop me?! I’ve always wanted Keith. Simple little things like a man’s marital status don’t bother me.” “You know you really are something else!!! You are going to get yourself burned one day messing with all of these married men. You know the dirt you do will somehow catch up to you.”

"Rachel, Rachel, Rachel, sweetie will you calm down please!! It’s just some clean innocent fun.”
Yeah, until someone gets hurt...” Rachel adds turning her head.

"Whatever!” Monica says laughing it off as she rises from the table and makes her way over to Keith.
"What in the world is wrong with that girl?!” Tina, another senior marketing exec asks."
"Girl, she’s always been like that…since college! She doesn’t listen to me; doesn’t listen to me at all.”
Monica is standing by the copy machine making idle chitchat while Keith is making photo copies for his next report.
"Oh hey Monica, you look nice today.”"
"Thanks, Keith, see you are getting ready for that Tide Reach ad campaign.”
“Yeah, you know you’re really good at strategizing and coming up with new plans for these team members. Maybe one day you and I should work together.”
“Yeah most definitely.” She says flirtatiously while we all know that Monica has other interior motives in mind.

Midnight Rain-When the game gets you caught up-you have to catch the game up.

Chapter 1

Wrong Turn

One late rainy night I remember coming back from seeing a film with my brother Jonathan we decided to

take a short cut down a street. But what we saw would change our lives forever. As we continued

down the street we started to hear swearing and the sounds of someone being punched. I just knew

this wasn’t about to be pretty. As much as we tried to walk away from it, we just couldn’t, it was as if

we were just frozen in fear. The man’s deep voice dominated over the woman’s small quaint voice.

“What did I tell you about having my money? This is the second time this shit has happened? Do

you think I am playing with you, trick?! I will kill yo’ ass.” the man said.

“I’m sorry ‘Chadron, but I had to feed my kid, plus I had to pay my rent this week!”

“How in the fuck is that my problem?! I let that shit slide the first time. But this time I might have to

teach your ass a lesson!!”

“NO, I’m sorry; I’ll make it up tonight! I promise!”

“NO, I’m afraid this is the last time, you gon mess with my money. Let this be the last time you fuck with

Chadron!” He said pulling out a gun from his side and letting the trigger go off. Once we saw this we

turned to run for our lives. We didn’t want to be a part of what would happen next. But apparently, the

guy heard us because the next thing I knew he was hot on our trails. We thought to take a short cut

down the alley. It was already dark and as if you could tell this wasn’t the best neighborhood to be in

especially at this time of night. No one out but prostitutes, pimps and crack heads looking for hits. Just

when we thought we were in the clear he jumped right in front of us. We damn near pissed ourselves.

Jonathan stood in front of me just in case the man wearing a purple silk outfit that shined against the

street light tried to attack us.

“Where the hell y’all think y’all going?”

“Look man, we don’t want any trouble. We are just trying to get home.” My brother said.

I could tell he was terrified beyond belief because he’s a pretty tight muscle bond dude. So, for him to

be scared we knew this wasn’t good.

“What did y’all see?”

“Oh man, we didn’t see anything.”

“Bull-shit, if y’all say anything to the police, I’ll blast y’all like I did that trick ass bitch! Do you understand

me?!”

“Yeah man, we hear you. We hear you loud and clear!”

“And just and case you think I’m playing!” He said as he fired one bullet straight into the air! At that

moment we turned and ran the hell away. I think we ran all the way home that night.

The Next Day

I woke up around ten in the morning. I couldn’t sleep at all that night. All I could think of is that horrible

pimp and that poor, poor woman. I felt so sorry for her and her child. I walked downstairs to see my

brother Jonathan preparing breakfast. I just didn’t know how he and I would get through this. I just

wish I could get over it. What could we do?! We were threatened to silence so telling the police was

out. But on the other hand, a woman’s life was taken at the hands of this jerk. We were stuck between

a rock and a hard place. What could we do?

“Thanks, Jonathan.” I said grabbing my plate and sitting at the table across from him.

“How did you sleep?” He asked.

“I didn’t. I couldn’t get that murder out my head. I can’t believe…I mean what can we do. I’m too afraid

to go to the police. But we can’t just let that woman’s murder go unreported.”

“I know the way that guy spoke to me. It’s a moment I’ll never forget that day. His eyes burned holes in

my retinas and pierced right into my soul. I ain’t usually scared too easily but once you’ve seen a 230lb

man with a loaded gun pop it off on someone you have seen it all.

“I think we need to go to the police anyway Jon. I just can’t live with this on my conscience.” I stated as

I swallowed my blueberry pancakes and shuffled my scrambled eggs around on my plate.

“I mean it’s just not that easy Rochelle.” He says as he turns to stare out the window. “You didn’t see

the way he looked at me. He said he would kill us if we told anybody ‘Chelle.”

“So can you honestly sit here and let this go?! What if it were I out there? Wouldn’t you want someone

to tell you if your loved one died? Who are you more afraid of him or GOD? Cause he’s the one you’re

going to have to answer to.” I said as I got up and left the kitchen. I just couldn’t live with this on my

conscience anymore. Something had to be done. Jonathan and I weren’t sure if we were going to go to

the police as of yet about this but to ease my own pain I think it’s alright to share with you the

uncovering of this tragic tell. So, as you may already know the woman was a prostitute who needed to

make some money to pay her pimp which is already sad enough in itself. But since, the situation touches

so close to home I will tell you everything that I know. It all started just two years ago…

Chapter 2

It All Falls Down

Now, I may be wrong but from what I know the woman’s name is Danielle Turner. She is about twenty

four years old. She is a mother of a young six year old girl and works as a consultant at a printing

company. It is a day like any other as her and Desmond argues over parental duties.

Danielle walks out of the house following Desmond as he begins down the street.

“Desmond! Desmond, are you going to walk out on me and Caely like that seriously?!”

“You trip too much. I can’t deal with your constant bitching and nagging.”

“I wouldn’t have to if you would just do what you have to do as a man! I don’t ask for much but for at

least fifty dollars a week to take care of your daughter.” Danielle yelled as neighbors started to turn

their heads to see what all the commotion was about.

“Why? You got a job don’t you? Why the hell I got to give you money when you already got money?

And do you have to be so loud got the neighbors looking at us and shit, damn!”

“I don’t care about that Desmond. I need you to step up to the plate and be a damn father. Yes, I have

a job but I need to pay bills, rent and food for her. I didn’t lie down by myself and I don’t want to raise

her by myself, come on Desmond.”

“Danielle! What do you want me to do? I’m bending over backwards trying to get out here and find a

job but ain’t nobody hiring. I’m tired of hearing your constant bickering all of the time. You act like my

momma!”

“If you were a man, you wouldn’t need a mother. Don’t you care about Caely? If you don’t want to do it

for me, at least do it for Caely, she needs you”

“I ain’t got time for all this. I’m too young to be tied down. I’m sorry but I can’t do this anymore.”

“You can’t do what anymore?! You can’t do what anymore Desmond?!”

“I can’t do this anymore!!! Tell Caely, I love her but I just can’t do this anymore. I’m sorry Danielle.” He

said as he turned to continue down the street. Danielle couldn’t believe that the father of her child just

walked out of her life and the life of her six year old daughter Caely. She was devastated, truly

devastated, Danielle walked back into the house and shut the door. Sitting on the couch she just broke

down crying. What could she do at this point; her job was barely making enough to put food on the

table. Reminiscing, on old memories of her and Desmond in high school when things were good, heaven

knows if she knew he’d do this she’d pick a better guy to be with. But she had to face reality; she had a

mouth to feed and a dead beat father along with a yearly income of $15,000. Something had to be

done and it had to be done quickly

The Plague-Sometimes Look can kill

Chapter 1 (Unleashed-It Begins)

My Warning

Hello, it’s nice to meet you. How are you? My name is Jeffrey Willis but I sometimes go by the
alias of Harold Ian Victor. I’ll tell you more about that later. I don’t need to tell you everything
about me, I’m sure you don’t care anyway. But I will tell you what you want to know. I am a
young man of about twenty two years of age. I am extremely good looking, extremely! And no I
am not just being cocky or conceited. I’ve been told by several women and a few guys as a
matter of fact. I am a chocolate brown with deep dark eyes. I drive a nice car and make a nice
amount of money.
Women love to buy me things and do whatever with me. I don’t stop them
cause hell what man wouldn’t like that shit. But where some women usually fail with me, they
don’t focus on the inside. All women see when they are with me is this fine as face and how I
pleasure them. I am an addiction to most. Once I get inside you I never leave. You are stuck with
me forever. I don’t mind at first but after a few years I start to do damage to the body and tear
down the morality of your soul and self –esteem. No one wants to live with me but yet they
won’t protect themselves from me. Do I feel bad about what I do to people; HELL NO!
People are responsible for their own actions. We are a part of an ignorant society where carelessness
reigns supreme. We play ourselves repeatedly just for an hour or two of satisfaction that we
don’t care about the repercussions of our actions. I remember this one saying I heard, “If looks
could kill.” I laugh at the mere thought. Because sometimes they just do!

Til' Death Do Us Part

I was coming home from another long night of rehearsal, of “Fighting Back” a current Hollywood movie that I’m working on. The rain and thunderstorm had gotten worse as I turned to pull up the driveway. Luckily, I had my umbrella lying in the back seat. I checked to see what time it was and my digital clock read to me: 1:15am. I couldn’t believe that the time had flown past like that. I hoped Leon was still in bed sleep so I could sneak into the house unnoticed.

I turned off the ignition to my Porsche, grabbed my umbrella and walked towards the porch. I fumbled through my purse to find my house keys. I finally unlocked the door and stepped into the house. Looking around, a bit startled, it was darker inside the house then outside. I tried to reach for a light switch but the next thing I knew I heard Leon’s voice pounding from the end of the hallway as I saw a tall figure running towards me. I slid against the wall as I anticipated what would happen next.
“What the hell are you doing coming home so fucking late, Leilani?!” He asked yelling at me.
“Leon, you knew I had rehearsal tonight. I just didn’t expect it to last so long. Sorry, I lost track of time. But it’s not the first time, so why are you always tripping?” I stated as I tried to plead my case.
“That’s just it, shit! I’m tired of you coming home so fucking late all the damn time. What the fuck are you doing that you have to keep coming home so late. Are you cheating on me? You’re cheating aren’t you?”
“No, Leon. I’m not cheating on you. I don’t have time to cheat any damn way.”
“What? So you saying if you had the time you would!”
“Leon, you’re taking it the wrong way, you know what I mean. I’m tired; I don’t have time for this. I just want to go to sleep.”
“Hell no, fucks that! I’m not letting you get away from me that easily. I’ll be damned if you cheat on me and think you can get away with it!” He repeated over and over.
“I’m not cheating on you! What the hell is wrong with you?!! I was at work! Why do you always think someone is cheating on you?! Are you cheating on me?! Do you feel guilty for some stupid shit that you did? Now you just want to blame that shit on me?! I’m tired of this Leon, damn.”
“I don’t know who the fuck you think you’re talking to like that!” He said as the thundered clapped and the rain poured down harder. It was one thing to be arguing but I don’t think the weather helped the situation any better. The more the thunder boomed the scarier it made Leon’s voice appear to be. I just wanted this night to be over. But it was far from being done with I see.

I walked past him towards the stairs; I didn’t want to argue with him tonight. He knew I’d never cheat on him so I didn’t know where all this was coming from. I just wanted to crawl into bed and get a good night’s sleep. Well a good morning’s sleep. But he just wouldn’t let this go.

“No! I’m not letting you walk away from this shit!” He said, as he pulled me from my waist and threw me onto the floor. I tried to rise to my feet but he started to punch me in the face. I blocked my face with my hands and kicked him in the groin. I tried to run to the den as fast as I could to escape from Leon’s treacherous fit. Here we go again I thought. I couldn’t take coming home to his abusive ways. I didn’t need this. I sure as hell didn’t deserve this. Every night we fight. Every night we argue, every night I’d end up bloodied and bruised. Every night he’d lie as he looked me in my eyes and told me that he loved me. Every night I’d cry as I felt that each day another part of me has died.
“You bitch! Wait to I get my hands on you. I’m going to kick your ass!”
“Leon! LEON just please leave me alone! I’m tired of going through this with you. You’re going fucking insane!”
“Oh I’m the one that’s insane while you’re going out doing God know what with GOD know who.”
I sat in the den with the door locked thinking to myself why do I continue to endure this pain and misery from a man that clearly doesn’t love me. I know that I deserve better but I am just too damn afraid to leave him. I am paralyzed in fear, stuck in a loveless relationship. The house turned quiet even the thunder stopped roaring. I assumed that Leon had given up his pursuit of trying to chase me down. I slowly crepe to the door, still everything seemed silent. I opened the door and walked into the hallway. I proceeded down the hall towards the downstairs bedroom. Sadly, the next thing I knew Leon had appeared out of nowhere.
“You thought I would forget about this shit!” He shouted.
As soon as I heard his voice I stood frozen in fear; that paralyzing feeling came over my body again. I didn’t know what happened next because moments later I felt Leon hit me in the back of the head with a metal baseball bat. I fell to the floor. I blacked out. I know I could’ve died that night. All this shit this man has put me through. I couldn’t take it anymore, so why the fuck was I doing it? But this is just the tip of the ice berg.
Maybe I should back up a minute and explain to you just how everything got so rough between me and Leon. Because honestly speaking, things weren’t always this horrific between us. Let me tell you the story of how Leon and I first started dating. One meeting changed my entire life as I struggled to juggle college and my professional acting career. I guess love really can be deadly.
